Commercial Premium Financing

Keep your coverage. Keep your cash.

Spread commercial insurance premiums into monthly payments through our licensed premium finance partner, so a large renewal doesn’t drain the working capital your operation runs on.

Installment plan or premium financing? Many standard carriers offer installment billing. But many commercial policies, including most excess and surplus lines and program markets common in trucking, require the premium to be paid in full up front. Premium financing lets you spread that premium into monthly payments.

Built for commercial premiums.

Financing is available across the commercial lines most businesses carry, with dozens of additional coverage types eligible.

Commercial auto and trucking

Fleet liability, physical damage, and cargo premiums turned into structured monthly payments.

General liability

The liability coverage your contracts and operations require, paid over time.

Commercial property

Coverage for buildings, equipment, inventory, and other business assets.

Commercial umbrella

Additional limits above your primary auto and liability policies.

Excess liability

Higher limits for operations and contracts that call for them.

Package policies

Several coverages combined and financed under one agreement.

Harder-to-finance items, too. Fully earned policies, premium audits, bonds, prior balances, non-rated carriers, risk retention groups, flood, aviation, and marine.

Four steps from quote to coverage.

  1. We place your coverage and quote financing alongside it.
  2. You review and e-sign the premium finance agreement and pay the down payment.
  3. The finance company pays the premium to the insurer.
  4. You repay the finance company in monthly installments.

Premium financing FAQ.

Does financing change what my insurance costs?

No. The premium the insurer charges doesn’t change because you finance it. Financing adds a finance charge, which is stated in the premium finance agreement before you sign.

What will my down payment and terms be?

Terms depend on the policy, the premium amount, and approval by the finance company. We quote financing alongside your coverage so you can compare paying in full with financing.

How do I make payments?

Payments go directly to the premium finance company, and you choose the method:

  • Online: log in to your account portal and pay by bank account (ACH) or credit card.
  • Automatic monthly payments: set up autopay from your bank account or card.
  • By mail: send a check to the address on your billing statement.
  • By phone: pay by check or card with customer service.
  • Mobile app: view your account and set payment reminders.

Paperless billing is available. Processing fees may apply to some payment methods. Your account and payment details are in your premium finance agreement.

What happens if I miss a payment?

A late charge may apply. If the payment stays past due, the finance company must first mail you a written notice giving you at least 10 days to catch up, with a copy to us. If it isn’t paid by then, the finance company can cancel the financed policy.

A cancellation for nonpayment can follow your business. Insurance applications usually ask whether any policy was cancelled in recent years, and some insurers decline or charge more because of it. For motor carriers, the insurer also notifies FMCSA, and operating authority can be revoked if replacement coverage isn’t on file in time. Contact us right away if a payment is going to be late.

If my policy is cancelled for nonpayment, does paying reinstate it?

Not automatically. Only the insurance company can reinstate coverage. Contact us to confirm whether a policy was reinstated.

I cancelled my policy. Why am I still getting bills?

Your premium finance agreement is a loan, so the account stays open until the balance is paid. When a policy cancels, the insurer sends the unearned premium to the finance company, which can take up to 60 days under Texas law, and it’s applied to your balance. Some policies have minimum or fully earned premiums, so the refund may not cover everything you owe. Any remaining balance is still due, and bills can continue while the refund is processed.

Can I finance personal insurance?

Yes. See personal premium financing.

About premium financing. Premium financing is provided by a licensed third-party premium finance company, not by JJ Reed & Associates. Financing is optional and subject to approval and a written premium finance agreement. On commercial policies, JJ Reed & Associates may receive compensation from the finance company. If we do, we tell you the source of that compensation in writing before you sign, and the amount when Texas law requires it.
