Personal Premium Financing

Pay your policy monthly.

Most personal policies can be paid monthly through the insurer. When that isn’t an option, premium financing through our licensed partner can spread the premium into monthly payments.

Installment plan or premium financing? Most insurers offer their own monthly or installment payment plans, and that’s usually the first option we’ll look at. Premium financing is an alternative when an installment plan isn’t available, for example with certain markets or after a past cancellation for nonpayment.

Personal policies we can finance.

When financing is the right fit, it’s available on the personal policies we place, subject to approval by the finance company.

Homeowners

Your home policy, including dwelling, belongings, and liability.

Auto

Personal auto policies for the vehicles in your household.

Umbrella

Additional liability limits above your home and auto policies.

Landlord / dwelling fire

Coverage for rental properties you own.

Four simple steps.

  1. We quote your coverage and show paid-in-full and financed options side by side.
  2. You review and e-sign the premium finance agreement and pay the down payment.
  3. The finance company pays the premium to your insurer.
  4. You repay the finance company in monthly installments.

Personal premium financing FAQ.

Does financing change what my insurance costs?

The premium the insurer charges doesn’t change because you finance it. Financing adds a finance charge, which is stated in the premium finance agreement before you sign. If you’d rather avoid the finance charge, you can pay the policy in full.

What will my down payment and payments be?

That depends on the policy, the premium amount, and approval by the finance company. We quote financing alongside your coverage so you can compare paying in full with financing.

How do I make payments?

Payments go directly to the premium finance company. You can pay online through your account portal by bank account or card, set up automatic monthly payments, mail a check, or pay by phone. Processing fees may apply to some methods. Your account details are in your premium finance agreement.

What happens if I miss a payment?

A late charge may apply. If the payment stays past due, the finance company must first mail you a written notice giving you at least 10 days to catch up, with a copy to us. If it isn’t paid by then, the finance company can cancel the financed policy, which can leave you without coverage and can make future coverage harder to get. Contact us right away if a payment is going to be late.

If my policy is cancelled for nonpayment, does paying reinstate it?

Not automatically. Only the insurance company can reinstate coverage. Contact us to confirm whether a policy was reinstated.

I cancelled my policy. Why am I still getting bills?

Your premium finance agreement is a loan, so the account stays open until the balance is paid. When a policy cancels, the insurer sends the unearned premium to the finance company, which can take up to 60 days under Texas law, and it’s applied to your balance. If the refund doesn’t cover everything you owe, the rest is still due.

Can I pay it off early?

Yes. You can pay the balance in full at any time, and under Texas law you may be entitled to a refund credit of part of the finance charge.

Does JJ Reed & Associates get paid for financing my policy?

No. We receive no compensation from the finance company on personal policies.

About premium financing. Premium financing is provided by a licensed third-party premium finance company, not by JJ Reed & Associates. Financing is optional and subject to approval and a written premium finance agreement, which states the finance charge. JJ Reed & Associates receives no compensation from the finance company on personal policies.
